Leadership & Community – HLA Graduating Class 2020/2021

The Harford Community College and the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, co-sponsors of the Harford Leadership Academy held its graduation banquet on December 16, 2021.  

Rebecca Winiarski, Elegant Restoration, Inc. graduated with 34 other members of the community.  The 2020/2021 graduating class began in March of 2020 which was quickly postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  It was rescheduled again for the fall of 2020, but due to rising cases of COVID, it was postponed again and was not rescheduled until the fall of 2021.

The HLA class met for 13 weeks to learn about different aspects of the Harford County community, and topics regarding Aberdeen Proving Ground, Agriculture & Environment, Economic Development, Education and Workforce development, Emergency Response, Ethical Leadership, Focused Social Issues, Health Care, History and Government, Leadership Styles, Personal Visioning, Planning for the Future, Public Safety, Starting the Leadership Engine, Team Building and Volunteerism. 

Congratulations to Rebecca and all the attendees!  This is certainly a memorable experience for this group of young leaders and a lesson in perseverance and flexibility. HLA Alumni were recognized for attending the event, Dave Chmura HLA Class of 2010, and Julie Chmura HLA Class of 2012.
